Prime Time Band Primed for Free Fall/Winter Concert
New members always welcome to join group of mature, amateur musicians
The Santa Barbaara Prime Time Band will present its free fall/winter concert, 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 in the San Marcos High School auditorium, 4750 Hollister Ave. The community band is comprised of more than 60 amateur musicians, all mature adults intent on providing free concerts for the greater Santa Barbara area.
The Prime Time Band performs in local parades and outdoor events, at large public concerts, for civic groups, and retirement communities countywide. The band's repertoire includes pop, classics, show tunes, marches, and seasonal music. The band performed at Music Academy of the West in 2021 and the Santa Barbara Courthouse July 4th event.
Prime Time Band welcomes new members and is open to anyone age 40 and older; its eldest members are over age 90. A key part of the band’s mission is to provide entry points to music making for older adults, including those with no musical experience and those who have been inactive for a long time.
